Well, I didn't get a tooth extraction minus the anesthesia, but I did get surgery without it. Just like you, I couldn't "scream like a banshee" or even howl like a wounded dog since the operation was done under my chin. One wrong move could send the invasive scalpel into my throat. I should have seen my knuckles turn white that time, for that was the only part of my body I could easily move without the fear of introducing the scalpel to my throat.
