This will eventually hurt his campaign. However, knowing he doesn't stand a chance in the senate, with the overwhelming evidence against him, he will make it appear as if he's the underdog to elicit sympathy from the people that's why he's resorting to media appearances instead of facing his opponents in the proper forum.
