Beautiful post. For a moment it seemed you were describing my grandmother.. She bore fourteen children in all– eleven of whom outlived her. I feel sad when I remember the kind of mother she was. All her life she worked and worked and never complained…even after her husband’s infidelity. Her children did “succeed” and are now all professionals. Sadly though, none of them was ever able to return all the selfless devotion she showed as a mother. Then cancer claimed her. And took her away from us forever. What happened now to the sons she raised? Only time can tell. Perhaps it doesn’t matter anymore — so long as she is remembered and loved by the few lives she’d touched…
